Gamma Knife at the University Hospital has treated more than 250 patients
The gamma knife at the University Hospital has treated roughly 15 per cent of brain surgery patients with a non-invasive procedure. The radiosurgery team at the hospital, are able to deliver painless and scalpel-free radiation to difficult regions of the brain to treat a variety of disorders including lesions and tumours.
The $17-million Gamma Knife Centre opened in December 2017, funded entirely by community donors through the University Hospital Foundation.
